Opening a CrossFit gym - Equipment

At this point, we have gone through the first steps towards opening a CrossFit gym, along with gym services and finding a space. The next phase is to fill the space with needed equipment.

Virtually you have two options: make a one-time preliminary investment of let’s say about 50 000 € for a complete equipment package, or invest along the way as your customer base grows. The second option has proven to be safest. After all, in the beginning, you will only need a sufficient amount of equipment to cover your on-ramp courses.

“I believe that a good model is to always have one extra set of equipment available versus the number of athletes. Invest in equipment when you have extra money, and invest first in general equipment like barbells, weights, rowers, kettlebells and a rig. Later on, when your customers’ standards rise, invest in more complex gear.” - Mikko Aaltonen, Reebok CrossFit 33100

Opening CF GYM-Equipment

Earlier we wrote about gym services and emphasized the importance of quality. Properly functioning equipment is a huge part of the customer experience, so don’t compromise on quality here either.

“Invest in good quality right from the beginning, it will pay you back. A Rogue barbell costing 300€ is cheaper in the long run than a 100€ barbell that breaks in two weeks.” - Juha Metsämuuronen, CrossFit Lappeenranta

We highly recommend buying equipment from Rogue Fitness, we and a big part of our gym customers do and have found the products very durable. Rogue’s service also works very well, orders are safe, fast and easy to place. They ship all around the world (note that the fees vary).

To make things easy, they provide a selection of ready Affiliate Equipment Packages.
